About

The real izakaya

We believe Japan should be experienced not through stories, but in front of a steaming bowl of ramen.

We believe that Japan should be experienced not through stories, but over a bowl of steaming ramen. For us, authenticity is not an abstraction: it is the steam rising from the broth, the clinking of glasses, the leisurely conversations. It is the idea that an izakaya is not something to be looked at: it is something to be experienced.

Kido spiega

An izakaya is an informal Japanese pub where people meet after work to drink and share dishes in a lively, relaxed atmosphere. The menu offers a wide range of specialties, and drinks range from Japanese beer to sake, shochu, and cocktails.

We don’t replicate an atmosphere: we experience it together with you in an authentic way, just like you would breathe it in the streets of Tokyo or Osaka, when work is over and you enter a place that allows you to be yourself.

The Donburi House Experience

Chef Kido

Kido Takashi brings to Donburi House a vision forged through years of experience in Japan, Europe, and Latin America. He has cooked in a variety of settings, learning how Japanese tradition can adapt without losing its identity. This international journey has allowed him to combine technique, intuition, and absolute respect for the product, building a method that now guides every dish.

The method

To offer an authentic experience, it is not enough to know the recipes; you have to respect their soul. That’s why we carefully select each supplier, choose ingredients that reflect Japanese tradition, and adopt techniques that leave no room for improvisation. This is how an izakaya remains true to itself, wherever you find it.

The real izakaya

Every Donburi House shares the same spirit: an informal, welcoming place where you gather at the end of a long workday. In Japan, this place has a name: izakaya, a spontaneous and intimate venue where you can share quality time, leaving your worries at the door. Lanterns, closely spaced tables, and a relaxed atmosphere convey warmth and the desire to be together.
